St John’s Preschool and Long Day Care Auburn has been awarded the rating of ‘Exceeding National Quality Standard’ under the National Quality Framework. St John’s Preschool  and Long Day Care was the second early childhood service established in 2019 by Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services (SCECS) and joins its sister centre at St Therese Sadleir in being celebrated for their commitment to high quality.

The National Quality Standard (NQS) sets a national benchmark for the quality of children’s education and care services across Australia. Services are assessed against the NQS by the state or territory regulatory authority and receive a rating for each of the seven quality areas of the NQS, as well as an overall rating.

“An overall rating of exceeding NQS is given to services that go above and beyond the requirements of the NQS in at least four of the seven quality areas. SCECS delivers play-based education experiences that inspire and nurture each child’s individual development and these results directly speak to the talent and passion our staff hold and to the professional development and support our management team provides,” explained SCECS Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Franceyn O’Connor.

“Our team of Educators pride ourselves on providing a place of joy and inspiration for our children, our families and our staff. We focus on high-quality education and care and providing outreach and wrap around services to our community, so being recognised as a centre that exceeds the national standards is a testament to the qualified and dedicated team we have here at St John’s,” said Centre Director, Cindy Adams.

The state-of-the-art purpose built centre is a place of both “education, exploration and inclusion” and offers places for 60 children aged between 3-6 years of age.
