We have many different facilities at St John’s Catholic Primary School.
Out of School Care
St John’s Catholic Primary School Auburn has a dedicated area for our families who require before school, after school and holiday vacation care. Fun and engaging educational activities including cooking, music and drama, sport and games are available.
Playground
Our expansive playgrounds provide student choice during playtimes. Students can choose to actively play on our soccer fields or netball and basketball courts; run on our running track, play on our adventure playground; and play creatively in our calm zone or passive play areas. Our children have access to a range of equipment for active play and passive play.
Technology
Technology is used to challenge and support teaching and learning. St John’s provides up-to-date technology for our students. Students are involved in problem solving activities and have the opportunity to work with technology both individually and collaboratively.
Classrooms
At St John’s our learning spaces are organised by staff to ensure that every child can grow in their learning. Our children benefit from quality resources designed to enhance learning in all key learning areas.
Library
St John’s boasts a library filled with high quality literature to inspire our children to be lifelong readers. Our children can visit the library at lunchtime to read and borrow additional books.
Community Gardens
Our children love the opportunity to tend our gardens in order to grow plants and vegetables. It is well-known that gardening not only builds confidence, it has a calming effect on the brain. Our students observe the various growth stages of plants and take part in both the planning and maintenance. Most importantly the St John’s children understand that fresh vegetables are healthy food choices.
St John’s Community Room
We value parent partnership at St John’s and have a community room available to ensure our parents and carers feel they belong and can contribute to our school community. This comfortable air-conditioned room is equipped with technology and cooking facilities, making it an ideal gathering place.
Canteen
St John’s has a canteen facilities where lunches can be ordered and healthy treats purchased.
Breakfast Club
At St John’s we recognise the importance of healthy eating and good food being fuel for our brain. Student leaders assist our Family Educator to organise Breakfast Club at various times of the year.
