Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.
St John’s Catholic Primary School Auburn is a vibrant and diverse faith-filled community inspired by the charism of the Sisters of Charity. We endeavour to deepen our students’ understanding of the Sisters of Charity charism “Service of the Poor”. Whenever a need is perceived, we strive to discern our response and act through the love of Christ. We work to support the needs of our own families and endeavour to reach out to others in our local community. The school’s outreach events are organised by the students actively involved in Mini Vinnies.
