As an educator for over 30 years and as a mother of grown-up children, I know that when a school partners with parents and carers, we can inspire our children to be kind, confident and motivated to learn and achieve.
St John’s Catholic Primary School Auburn is a culturally diverse community and our children respect all cultures and beliefs. We proudly combine our Catholic values and traditions with current research, to create a vibrant culture of future-focused learners. We explicitly teach our children positive learning dispositions such as persistence, metacognition (thinking about thinking), problem-solving, flexibility as well as character strengths such as courage, kindness, tolerance and compassion.
High expectations is a particularly important feature of our school. We believe that all children can grow in their learning in a calm, safe and positive environment where they are challenged appropriately. We know that students progress at different rates and we place a major emphasis on addressing the learning needs of all our students, including our high achieving learners. Our staff members are highly motivated and work together to measure the growth of our students, working in partnership with parents and carers to respond to their changing needs.
At St John’s, we stimulate our children’s learning by offering a variety of quality programs for all our children including music, sport, art and leadership so that every child can thrive.
I am very proud of the St John’s School community and I invite you to experience it for yourself. If you have any questions about our school, please contact the school office.
Yours in partnership,
Louise Maguire
